3 Things to Do First to Get Ready for 2010
Posted By Industrial Web Solutions Marketing Team on January 5, 2010
Well, dear readers, the New Year is upon us. The November 2009 Manufacturing ISM Report on Business indicates a promising rise in sales and production for 2010 but cautions that growth will be slow. So what are you doing or planning on doing to ensure you are part of that growth?
Here is a list of the most critical things for you to do to have a prosperous 2010:
Update your website with content that addresses the new and principle interests of each of your target audience groups. Things have changed. Your website content needs to be organized and developed to include what is important to your customers now. They may not be building the same products for the same customers anymore. You have to help them to meet the new demands of their customers if you expect them to rely on you for what they need. The old way of doing things no longer applies!
Discover what your target audience groups need now and make sure they can find it on your website. This ties in with updating your website but the focus is really on discovery. Conduct an email campaign to learn what your existing and potential customers need. Reach out to them with a highly focused and personalized email inviting them to:
- View your updated web pages
- Take advantage of a “free trial” offer to test your new product/service
- (If it’s in your budget) Log in to your new application and sign up for your VMI programs with online purchase orders, requests for quote, custom ordering, special customer discounts, self-service order management tools, etc…
- View a Webinar that explains the features and benefits of your new/existing product/service.
Be innovative. Uncover new ways to present existing products/services. Develop a new use for an existing product or service. Introduce a new product/service. Offer a new type of customer service like online technical support through a web conferencing application. Find some way to remind your existing customers and demonstrate to new/potential customers how valuable you are.
2010 is the year of letting go of your old ways of thinking and doing things and embracing the new world order that is clarified by the new needs of your target audience groups.
Everyone at Industrial Web Talk and Industrial Web Solutions wishes you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!
